hi, I'm nikki.
I am a multidisciplinary artist from nyc.
costume - fashion - teaching artist - painting - photography - textiles - social practice
In university, I studied environmental science. Sustainable art and living are extremely important to me. Most of my work is derived in a circular economy, and uses handmade, nontoxic, and earth-friendly practices. (I’ve come a longgg way from my early college days of setting nylon on fire to get an edgier look!)
In 2017, I self-published my first poetry book, ROOTS, which sold out of its first printing.
In the fall of 2018, I started Power Not Panic, a non-profit organization which uses performance and art to fight for social justice.

more about me
I've worked in the fields of fashion & costume design, illustration, & sewing. Social issues and the environment guide a lot of my work. Right now I'm mainly offering my services as a freelance costume designer and wardrobe tech. I also teach teach Theater at NY public schools.
I'm a self-described "fiber witch" and specialize in hand sewing, weaving, beading, and natural dyeing. My creative approach—no matter the medium—is to blend the realities of life with the magic of the imagined.
I have designed private label clothing for brands like La Senza and Material Girl. My indie handmade brand has been featured at Alternative Fashion Week Columbus.
In my spare time, I'm probably either dancing or watching The X Files. I love plants, comic books, spaghetti, and my cat.
